January 25th at 7:00 : St. Mary’s Social Justice Ministry Meeting in the St. Francis room of the Klaus Murphy Center. Come early at 5:45 for a pre meeting concerning Legislative Advocacy opportunities for how we can work together to have our voices heard by our law makers on issues we are concerned about.
January 25th: Monroe County will be participating in the annual ‘Point in Time Count’. This is an annual event that occurs throughout the United States to take a count and survey of people who are homeless. Information attained helps provide information on who and how many people are homeless as well as some of the factors causing homelessness. Volunteers are needed to help with the survey in Key West and in other parts of Monroe County. There will be a training on January 18th at 2:00 at The William M. Neece Center for Homeless Recovery 2221Patterson Ave. Training is provided and people are placed in teams to cover all areas. January 31st 7:00 – 9:00 pm: ‘Catholic Social Teaching 101’ in the Klaus Murphy Center. This presentation provides an introduction to Catholic social teaching and the Social Justice Mission of the Church.
Feb. 8th at 6:00: St Mary’s Monthly Creation Care Team meeting in the St. Francis Room of the KMC.

March 1st : The start of a 6 week Lenten Book Study on ‘Laudato Si, On Care for our Common Home’ at St. Mary’s. This is the second Encyclical of Pope Francis. More information to follow.
